We are seeking a dynamic and experienced PLC Controls Engineer to join our innovative team in the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing, and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery, and processes. With a focus on improving our manufacturing processes and driving operational excellence, the PLC Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of our operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop PLC control systems and interfaces for new and existing production line equipment.
2. Troubleshoot and repair PLC based control systems and associated components.
3. Develop and maintain electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.
4. Collaborate with design teams on automation and control systems design.
5. Use AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design purposes and to create and maintain schematics.
6. Program PLCs using RSLogix and other Allen Bradley software.
7. Provide technical support to internal departments and liaise with customer and supplier companies.
8. Manage projects using engineering principles and techniques.
9. Plan and design new production processes and design modifications to existing ones.
10. Monitor and control maintenance costs.
11. Perform wide-ranging electrical troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficient in PLC programming, specifically with Allen Bradley software such as RSLogix.
4. Extensive experience with electrical controls, electrical troubleshooting, and machine wiring.
5. Proficiency with CAD software, specifically AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
6. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach for generating new ideas.
8. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
9. Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines, while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to communicate complex technical information to non-technical colleagues.
11. An understanding of, and ability to work within, health and safety regulations and guidelines.
12. A proactive, motivated, and enthusiastic approach to work, with a commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge in the field of control engineering.
