The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Platform Engineer to join our team. We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and secure our on-premises and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD automation, cybersecurity best practices, and enterprise monitoring platforms. This role will be responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and highly available platform services while ensuring compliance with security standards. This person will bridge the gap between Dev Ops and IT Infrastructure, fostering a culture of collaboration, speed, and reliability to accelerate our software delivery processes.
This position is 100% on-site.
The Platform Engineer's responsibilities will include:
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering
3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes administration in production environments
Strong experience with: Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Python scripting, Jenkins, Argo CD, Git, Linux Administration
Experience with container technologies (Docker/Containerd).
Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls, VPNs).
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and GitOps methodologies
Knowledge of enterprise storage and virtualization platforms
Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Dynatrace, Datadog
Strong knowledge of: RBAC, Network Policies, Pod Security, Kubernetes Security, CIS Benchmarks, Zero Trust principles
Cloud certifications are highly preferred, including one or more of:
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Google Professional Cloud Architect
U.S. citizenship is required
Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
