Job Title: Platform Engineer – Data Hubs

Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design, deploy, manage, and optimize highly available, secure, and scalable Kubernetes platforms within Microsoft Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and platform engineering, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Kubernetes clusters using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
• Implement Kubernetes best practices for networking, security, storage, and cluster management.
• Automate platform provisioning and infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize cluster performance.
• Configure container networking, ingress controllers, load balancing, and service mesh technologies.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployment and platform operations.
• Ensure platform security through RBAC, Azure AD integration, policies, secrets management, and compliance controls.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Development, and Security teams to support enterprise applications.
• Maintain platform documentation, operational procedures, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Support Kubernetes upgrades, patching, backup, and disaster recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, storage, and container orchestration issues across production environments.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, cluster administration, and container orchestration.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD platforms.
• Knowledge of Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, or Log Analytics.
• Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, Load Balancers, Ingress Controllers, and Virtual Networks.
• Experience implementing RBAC, Azure AD integration, secrets management, and platform security best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Landing Zones and enterprise cloud architecture.
• Knowledge of Helm Charts and Kubernetes Operators.
• Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Experience supporting enterprise data platforms and cloud-native applications.
• Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.
