Job Title: Plant Technician
Location: Brandenburg, KY
Duration: Temp to Perm / Contract to Hire
Compensation: $27/hr on contract and $32/hr when converted to Perm

Who you are
  • 3-5 years' experience preferred in a manufacturing environment or working with chemicals
  • Ability to execute tasks efficiently, computer skills, good problem solving and math skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new product chemistries and their corresponding chemical processes.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and willingness to accept responsibility for work area.
  • Mechanical aptitude
     
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is a huge plus! 
 
Responsibilities
  • Candidate would need to efficiently and effectively operate the pilot plant equipment to develop and scale-up new products and modify current products.
  • Maintain knowledge of established chemistries, capable of operating reactors, filter systems, etc. and use DSC to control equipment.
  • Troubleshooting problems and analyze and interpret analytical issues.
  • Perform hands-on Operations work of pilot scale chemical processes, including preparing large-scale feedstock and reagents; monitoring process control panels; operating and adjusting process equipment; and safely handling materials throughout day-to-day operations
  • Monitor and document process conditions via various instrument readings and electronic data acquisition
  • Conduct routine plant operational tests
  • Communicate observations and conclusions clearly in verbal and written formats
  • Ensure plant equipment is maintained and functioning properly
  • Operate equipment for shipping, receiving, and warehousing of raw materials and product (we provide forklift training)
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain an organized and safe facility environment, adhering to all workplace safety requirements
  • Additional operational support of the team as needed
  • Manage time and tasks to efficiently operate multiple processes simultaneously.
 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required with some post high school education (e.g. trade school, community college, or university curriculum) or significant demonstrated on-the-job hands on operational experience
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and able to meet physical demands of the role
  • Proven track record of workplace safety
  • Ability to work independently with demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and ability to learn other software tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment
