We are currently hiring a Plant Supervisor

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Shift Supervisor to lead daily plant operations and support a high-performance manufacturing team. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and quality-driven production while supervising employees, coordinating maintenance activities, managing inventory reporting, and driving operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with manufacturing experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate teams while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, SOPs, JSAs, hot work permits, confined space procedures, and related safety programs.
  • Investigate and communicate safety concerns and support continuous safety improvements.
  • Assist in developing and updating operational and safety procedures.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support plant employees during assigned shifts.
  • Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance.
  • Provide coaching, training, corrective action, and performance feedback when needed.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration across departments and shifts.
  • Participate in employee development, recognition, and promotion recommendations.

Production & Operations

  • Oversee daily production activities, including start-ups, changeovers, cleanups, and routine operations.
  • Ensure production goals, quality standards, and operational targets are achieved.
  • Conduct mandatory shift change meetings to communicate production, safety, quality, and maintenance updates.
  • Coordinate staffing and workflow to maximize efficiency.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to company quality standards and testing requirements.
  • Review and complete quality reports accurately and on time.
  • Monitor production quality and address issues proactively.
  • Communicate quality concerns to plant leadership and recommend corrective actions.

Maintenance & Equipment

  • Ensure routine equipment inspections and daily maintenance checks are completed.
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with maintenance personnel and plant leadership.
  • Document repairs, adjustments, and maintenance work completed during each shift.

Reporting & Inventory

  • Maintain accurate production, maintenance, safety, and inventory records.
  • Monitor raw material levels and plant supplies.
  • Complete required reports, including production data, maintenance checklists, safety documentation, toolbox talks, and inventory counts.
  • Support material ordering as directed by management.

Housekeeping

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional facility.
  • Ensure employees follow housekeeping and cleanliness standards throughout the plant.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Completion of a basic electrical course or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality, and production processes.

Carry out other related duties as needed to meet departmental and organizational objectives

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Salary Range - $65,000 - $70,000 Non-Exempt/Hourly Position

Compensation based on experience with the potential to earn a yearly bonus
