    Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Plant Quality Manager will be responsible for the maintenance and control of the plant's quality management system (QMS) within the plant and driving the overall continuous improvement system as a partner to the operations team.
     
    This role will be based onsite in our Shelbyville, KY plant and will have occasional business travel as needed.
     
    Key Responsibilities of the Role:
    • Leads and manages plant quality department, providing coaching, development, training and support as needed to establish and maintain plant quality management system and standard work compliance
    • Lead, maintain, and drive continuous improvement through plant continuous improvement / KPI system, variation / waste reduction and change control system
      • Drives identification of true root cause of internal and external issues and translates to proactive improvements in all functions of the business
    • Ensure all customer requirements are met and serve as point of contact for customer visits, issues, and inquires
    • Lead cross-functional teams to identify root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for internal and external product failures.
      • Maintain on time delivery of internal and external responses
      • Manage internal containment to protect customers
    • Monitors, scores, and develop improvement plans for preventive and corrective action systems.
      • Internal KPIs
      • External / Internal Customer Scorecards
      • RoHS, REACH, IMDS, additional compliance requests
    • Maintains IATF 16949 certification for plant
    • Supports maintenance of ISO 14001 certification for the plant, if applicable
    • Lead and manage all program management functions for the plant, including PPAP submissions
    • Maintain plant nonconforming material program, including proactive action to prevent future nonconforming material
    • Maintain plant calibration system
    • Maintain plant document control system
    • Maintain plant internal audit program
      • Product Audits
      • Process Audits
      • Layered Process Audits
      • Parameter Audits
      • Incoming Inspection Audits
      • Supporting Internal QMS Audits
    Requirements:
    • BS in a technical field or equivalent experience required
    • 2+ years' experience in the development and maintenance of a quality testing/reporting system.
    • Six Sigma Green Belt certified is preferred.
    • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking/writing skills a plus.
    • Fluent in using Microsoft Office products
    • Interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis of building positive working relationships within the company.
    • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 10%)
    • IATF Experience or lead auditor certification preferred.
    • Ability to support the operations during non-business hours.
    • Must be authorized to work in the US without need for sponsorship.
