Position Location: Two positions available

Position Hours:1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday. Flexible start and end times based on operational needs.

Position Salary: Salary ranges from $90,000 - $110,000.

Salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidates. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end of a salary range and while it is possible to be hired at the higher end, it often requires unique circumstances, such as proven expertise.

Job Description:

The Plant Quality Control Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of plant quality activities, including quality inspection, nonconforming material control, customer concerns, corrective actions, quality system compliance, training coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works collaboratively with Operations, Technical Leadership, Production, and Maintenance to ensure products and processes consistently meet customer, regulatory, and company requirements while supporting employee development, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Control and Nonconformance Management

  • Manage the division#39;s hold area and nonconforming material processes to ensure timely disposition and resolution of quality issues.
  • Review quality issues daily and coordinate corrective actions with Production, Technical Leadership, and other departments as appropriate.
  • Perform and coordinate containment activities to minimize risk to customers and operations.
  • Conduct root cause investigations utilizing a team-based problem-solving approach.
  • Support rework planning and disposition activities to ensure compliance with customer and quality requirements.
  • Verify production processes and inspection methods align with customer specifications and internal standards

Customer Concern and Corrective Action Management

  • Lead the customer concern and corrective action process for the division.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding quality concerns, complaint resolution, and corrective actions.
  • Manage RMAs, credits, and customer quality documentation as required.
  • Utilize effective root cause analysis techniques to identify and address systemic issues.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions to improve quality performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies.

Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain compliance with ThermTech#39;s Quality Management System and applicable customer requirements.
  • Coordinate Management of Change activities, including training, notifications, and documentation updates.
  • Review quality procedures and work instructions for effectiveness and compliance.
  • Participate in quality system audits, management reviews, and annual Quality Manual reviews.
  • Monitor and report quality metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support TPM, Lean, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.

Quality Inspection and Operational Support

  • Manage the Quality Inspection team to ensure accurate and timely inspection activities.
  • Coordinate staffing, training, and work assignments for quality personnel.
  • Support new job launches by reviewing inspection requirements, racking methods, tooling, packaging requirements, and process controls.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Technical Leadership to improve process consistency and reduce quality risks.
  • Support equipment quality activities and containment actions when equipment-related quality concerns arise.

Communication and Employee Development

  • Provide regular communication of quality performance, customer concerns, corrective actions, and quality initiatives to employees and leadership.
  • Present training related to quality systems, procedures, customer requirements, and process changes.
  • Maintain training records and support employee competency development.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for quality personnel.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, customer focus, continuous improvement, teamwork, and servant leadership.

6S, Safety and Quality

  • Promote employee engagement in safety, quality, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure quality personnel maintain organized, safe, and effective work areas.
  • Support investigations of quality incidents, nonconformances, customer complaints, and audit findings.
  • Partner with Operations and Technical Leadership to maintain compliance with customer requirements and quality objectives)

Human Resource Management

  • Train, coach, and develop quality personnel to support business and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and support monthly one-on-one meetings and semi-annual performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Support employee performance management activities, including coaching, counseling, documentation, and corrective action processes.
  • Identify training needs, competency gaps, succession planning opportunities, and development plans within the quality function.
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

College Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Technical Field or related discipline. (Preferred)

Preferred Certifications

6 Sigma Black Belt

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of quality control, quality assurance, or heat-treating experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience in employee training and development.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, a non-resident, authorized to work in the U.S. without ThermTech sponsorship). ThermTech does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
    • This position must satisfy ITAR (DSP-5) compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be a lawful permanent resident [8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20)] or a protected individual [8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)]. Employment of Foreign Persons(s) [22 CFR 120.63] will be contingent on receiving the DSP-5 license from the US State Department.
