Description
The Department of Public Utilities - Wastewater Division is seeking a highly qualified, experienced and licensed Wastewater Utility plant supervisor to supervise the City's 75 MGD design flow Wastewater Treatment Plant including the bio solids production as needed, this a 24 hours 7 days a week utility.
Duties include but are not limited to
The Utility Plant Supervisor is responsible for plant permit compliance. Duties included but are not limited to monitoring chemical feeds and chemical levels controlling the treatment process, monitoring workstations via SCADA and plant observation tours, supervising the work and schedules of 3 direct reports; performing evaluations and approving time sheets for operators, holding monthly tailgate (safety/training) meetings and interpreting laboratory and operational data & make operational adjustments to maintain 100% compliance. The Utility Plant Supervisor position is a Broadband title salary ranging from Zone 1 to 5.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Due to the nature of work assignments, incumbents must be able to perform detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with frequent interruptions and under time constraint. The essential duties of this classification may require the ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push objects, pull objects, lift, use fingers and grasp objects. The working conditions may include exposure to noise, ascending and descending stairs, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases and potentially hazardous chemicals, hazardous physical conditions and extreme temperatures. In terms of the physical strength to perform the essential duties, this classification is considered to be medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
