About the Role
This is the person who owns the floor. The Plant Manager keeps production moving — building the schedules, leading the team through them, and stepping in the moment something stalls. Manufacturing experience is a plus, not a prerequisite; proven leadership under pressure is what the role is built around.
Key Responsibilities
Floor Operations
- Oversee daily operations on the plant floor
- Monitor performance — output, downtime, and quality — and address issues as they arise
- Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance with technicians and vendors as needed
Scheduling & Staffing
- Build and manage schedules to keep production on track
- Manage staffing levels and shift coverage
- Assign tasks and cover shifts as needs shift throughout the day
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and manage the floor team, keeping morale high
- Ensure the team follows safety practices and company procedures
- Communicate across departments to keep everything running smoothly
Qualifications
- Prior experience managing a team in a fast-paced operational setting
- Comfortable creating and adjusting schedules
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Confident communicator who can motivate and lead a team
- Willing to learn the manufacturing-specific side of the role — training provided
- Reliable, hands-on, and ready to jump in when something needs attention
