Plant Manager
Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations within a fast-paced production environment.
This position is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, cost, customer satisfaction, and team performance. The Plant Manager will provide hands-on leadership to manufacturing leaders and team members while building a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily manufacturing operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee engagement.
Provide leadership, coaching, and development to group leaders, team leaders, and manufacturing team members.
Monitor production schedules, efficiency, downtime, and other key performance indicators to ensure customer requirements are met.
Identify manufacturing issues and implement short- and long-term corrective actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on eliminating waste, improving processes, and increasing operational efficiency.
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality, safety, and environmental management systems.
Lead problem-solving activities when KPIs or operational goals are not achieved.
Support development and management of departmental budgets and cost-reduction initiatives.
Maintain standardized manufacturing processes, procedures, and work methods.
Partner with leadership and other departments on product improvement, cost reduction, and operational initiatives.
Build a positive work environment based on accountability, communication, teamwork, trust, and respect.
Qualifications Required:
Proven manufacturing leadership experience within a high-volume production environment.
Strong experience leading and developing manufacturing teams.
Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, productivity, cost, and operational performance.
Experience managing production KPIs and leading corrective-action/problem-solving initiatives.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and operational efficiency.
Preferred:
Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement experience.
Experience with quality and environmental management systems.
Budgeting, cost reduction, and manufacturing performance management experience.
Experience developing frontline supervisors and manufacturing leaders.
