Job Description

  • Provide overall leadership for a manufacturing operation, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently
  • Drive operational performance across productivity, quality, cost control, delivery, and customer satisfaction metrics
  • Lead and develop supervisors, team leaders, maintenance personnel, and production employees
  • Foster a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve profitability
  • Manage site budgets and maintain accountability for operational financial performance
  • Oversee maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Partner with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow and inventory management
  • Build workforce capability through coaching, succession planning, and employee development initiatives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic projects, facility upgrades, and long-term operational goals
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions where required
  • Champion a culture of ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the facility

The Successful Applicant

A successful Plant Manager should have:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience within heavy manufacturing, industrial products manufacturing, construction materials, metals, building products, aggregates, concrete, cement, mining, or similar process-driven industrial environments
  • Proven experience managing manufacturing operations with responsibility for safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold teams accountable
  • Experience overseeing maintenance, production planning, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing metrics, budgeting, and operational reporting
  • Ability to thrive in a hands-on leadership position where visibility and floor presence are essential
  • Experience working with ERP or manufacturing planning systems
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will also be considered
  • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or related operational excellence experience is highly desirable
