Plant Manager

Judge Direct Placement is working with a growing manufacturer in the Florence, KY area seeking a proactive, hands-on Plant Manager to oversee operations and spearhead a pivotal transition in their manufacturing journey. While they currently operate in a semi-automated CPG and bulk manufacturing environment, they are looking for a visionary leader to modernize their floor through the strategic introduction of new automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation Roadmap: Evaluate current semi-automated lines and lead the selection, installation, and commissioning of new robotics, conveyors, and packaging systems.

• Operational Excellence: Manage all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and safety (EHS).

• Hands-on Leadership: Maintain a visible presence on the floor. You lead by example, troubleshooting mechanical issues alongside the team when necessary.

• Change Management: Train and upskill the existing workforce to transition from manual/semi-manual tasks to interacting with sophisticated automated machinery.

• KPI Management: Drive improvements in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), scrap reduction, and labor efficiency.

• P&L Accountability: Manage the plant budget, CAPEX projects for new equipment, and vendor relationships.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 7+ years in a manufacturing leadership role, specifically within the CPG, Food & Beverage, or Pharma sectors.

• Technical Literacy: Proven track record of implementing or managing automated production lines (PLC knowledge, FANUC/ABB robotics, or high-speed packaging experience is a major plus).

• Proactive Mindset: You don't wait for a breakdown to fix a process. You use data and observation to predict and prevent bottlenecks.

• Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
