    About the Role

Picture your day starting with a quick safety huddle, a glance at the CMMS backlog, and a walk-through of critical assets on the production floor. You’ll assign work orders, align with production on priorities, and jump into hands-on diagnostics when a line needs attention. By midday, you’re validating preventive maintenance completion, reviewing spare parts levels, and coordinating with vendors. In the afternoon, you’re guiding a commissioning activity on upgraded equipment while coaching a technician through a PLC fault. Throughout it all, you set the tone for safety and reliability.

    What You’ll Lead

    • Day-to-day direction for a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring work is planned, prioritised, and completed safely.
    • Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production systems.
    • PLC and automation diagnostics to keep manufacturing assets running predictably and efficiently.
    • Preventive and corrective maintenance programmes that maximise uptime and reduce unplanned stoppages.
    • Scheduling and backlog management using CMMS/maintenance software, with clear communication of status and next steps.
    • Partnership with production to minimise disruptions and lift equipment performance.
    • Spare parts monitoring and input to maintenance budgeting and capital equipment planning.
    • Support for equipment installs, upgrades, commissioning, and broader facility improvement projects.
    • Consistent adherence to safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and machine guarding.
    • Coaching, training, and development to build a high-performing maintenance team and strong safety culture.

    Required Qualifications

    • 3+ years supervising maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
    • 2+ years of hands-on PLC and automated equipment troubleshooting experience.
    • Strong knowledge across core maintenance disciplines relevant to manufacturing.
    • Proven experience implementing and managing preventive maintenance programmes.
    • Working knowledge of CMMS or maintenance management software.
    • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to prioritise work and respond effectively to breakdowns.
    • Clear communication and strong problem-solving abilities.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Welding and fabrication experience.
    • Background in high-volume manufacturing.
    • Experience with equipment installation and commissioning projects.
    • Technical certification, trade school training, or related education.

    Success Profile

You’re a hands-on leader who balances people management with deep technical troubleshooting. Reliability thinking guides your decisions, safety is non-negotiable, and your calm approach keeps a fast-paced manufacturing environment on track.
