Introduction
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Plant Engineer Controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of related Controls experience
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) such as Siemens, Rexroth, Allan Bradley
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Client Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Prior work experience in the industry
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
- Familiarity with UL508A requirements and NFPA79
- Experience with Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal programming and troubleshooting
- Machining and automation equipment controls troubleshooting experience
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and implement improvements to control systems and equipment
- Lead problem solving and troubleshooting activities
- Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel and plant electricians
- Integrate controls into IT systems like Factory Information Systems (FIS), Error Proofing, QWX, IIoT, and QTS
- Review and coordinate project installations and reprogram equipment for engineering changes
- Maintain program backups for machinery and automation
- Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
- Participate in risk assessments evaluating equipment safety
