Imagine This Scenario
A production cell flags an alarm. You trace the fault from the HMI screen into an Allen‑Bradley routine, verify VFD parameters, and confirm a 4–20 mA signal is in range. You swap a temperature controller on the bench, validate the fix, close the CMMS work order with accurate parts usage, and update a work instruction so the next shift is set up for success. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, you’ll thrive at Novolex—where packaging innovation meets a deep commitment to sustainability across products, operations, and people.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Execute troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on industrial electrical and electronic control systems to sustain throughput and quality.
- Carry out PMs, corrective work, upgrades, and new equipment/facility electrical installs, documenting all activity and inventory in the CMMS.
- Resolve issues spanning PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, AC/DC drives, temperature controls, and computer‑based platforms.
- Program, configure, and set up machines to consistently meet product specifications.
- Partner with teams to create, revise, and improve manufacturing work instructions and process flow documentation.
- Modify and troubleshoot PLC/HMI/VFD applications, including program changes and transfers.
- Assemble/disassemble and service automated and manual electro‑mechanical equipment using schematics, engineering drawings, and clear instructions.
- Install electrical infrastructure: bend and run conduit, mount boxes, pull feeders, and perform terminations.
- Bench‑test and repair offline components; restock validated spares or red‑tag and escalate for replacement or vendor repair.
- Maintain a safety‑first mindset while working accurately, quickly, and independently under pressure.
What You Need to Succeed
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance certification, or 3+ years of industrial electrician experience with mechanical capability; prior industrial manufacturing exposure is a plus.
- Expertise with 120/277/480 VAC and 3‑phase power and wiring systems.
- PLC background; Allen‑Bradley and RSLogix familiarity preferred.
- Experience with VFDs as well as DC and servo drives.
- Process control skills covering 4–20 mA loops, positional feedback, and analog control.
- Knowledge of temperature control systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of industrial electrical maintenance methods.
- Exposure to hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
