Plant Controller
We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to serve as a key financial business partner to plant leadership and Division Finance. This highly visible position will lead the plant's financial activities while supporting operational performance, profitability, compliance, and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, financial planning, and team leadership with the ability to work closely with Operations, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead plant financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Ensure accurate financial statements and compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Partner with Plant Leadership and Division Finance on business objectives and strategic planning
- Analyze plant financial and operational performance and provide actionable recommendations
- Monitor costs, variances, KPIs, and profitability
- Identify and drive cost-saving and operational efficiency initiatives
- Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory optimization
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments to align financial and operational goals
- Evaluate and support capital expenditure projects and business cases
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure SOX compliance
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits
- Drive financial process improvement, standardization, and best practices
- Lead, coach, and develop the plant finance team
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance experience
- Manufacturing or automotive industry experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years of financial leadership/team management experience
- Strong experience with manufacturing cost accounting
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, variance analysis, and financial reporting
- Experience with inventory accounting and plant operations
- Knowledge of internal controls, SOX, and audit requirements
- Experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, communication, and business-partnering skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work on-site in Tremonton 4 days per week
