What You'll Do

The Plant Controller will oversee and administer Tonawanda's accounting system to ensure all financial reporting, policies, and procedures are in compliance with GAAP and applicable laws. This role serves as a key member of the Tonawanda leadership team and requires a strong on-site presence to effectively support operations and fulfill position responsibilities. This person will report directly to the Corporate Controller with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.

Prepare and oversee monthly close process for plant, ensuring completeness and accuracy of report packagesAnalyze product costs and compile product cost statements for management review on a monthly basisReconcile intercompany accounts on a monthly basisProactively meet with plant management regularly to discuss costs comparisons to budget and perform cost analyses to drive cost management and savingsCoordinate annual physical inventories and update system to actual based on count results and report variances to local and corporate managementEstablish and update standard inventory values on an annual basis or as neededPrepare necessary regulatory filings including periodic sales & use tax filings, annual FORM 1099's, and any other non-payroll required filingsResponsibility for supporting the Niagara Falls New York Government funded research and development lab's financial reportingAssist in ERP (IFS) Implementation for Finance and Operations teams

What You'll Need

To be successful in this position, you must:

Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance and have 3 or more years of managementHave strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skillsBe knowledgeable in the principles and practices of purchasing, including competitive bidding practicesHave high standards of ethics and integrity and be able to represent the company in a professional and effective manner to various associations, customers, vendors, and the publicHave the ability to manage and compile large amounts of data into meaningful analysisBe self-motivated and have the proven ability to work in, and contribute to, a team environment to drive operations and process improvementsBe a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain government clearance

Washington Mills aims to deliver a comprehensive compensation package. The compensation provided is the national pay range for this position of $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year depending on experience. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
