Plant Controller | Path to CFO

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an SMB privately owned manufacturing plant with strong growth plans seeking a Plant Controller. This position will oversee the complete accounting and finance function while partnering closely with the General Manager, parent CFO, and operational leadership. It is open due to succession planning.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing finance leader who enjoys cost accounting, operational partnership, team development, and process improvement. The position offers high visibility, ownership of an evolving accounting environment, and a defined path toward broader financial leadership across multiple manufacturing companies.

Responsibilities:

• Month-End & Year-End Close

• GAAP Financial Reporting

• General Ledger Oversight

• Cost & Job Accounting

• Standard Costing & Variance Analysis

• Product Costing & Quoting Support

• Margin & Profitability Analysis

• Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

• Inventory Accounting & Controls

• AP, AR & Payroll Oversight

• Internal Controls & Audit Readiness

• ERP Implementation & Optimization

• Accounting Process Improvement

• Operational & Shop-Floor Partnership

• Accounting Team Leadership

• AI & Automation Initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience

• Manufacturing or plant accounting experience required

• Supervision experience required

• Strong cost accounting and GAAP financial reporting background

• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hands-on operating environment

• CPA or MBA preferred but not required
