Plant Controller - Automotive

Our client is a Tier 1 automotive parts manufacturer with an immediate need for a Plant Controller for its facility located in Anderson, SC.

The plant is winning new program awards and needs a finance leader who can cost them accurately and protect margin through launch. You will own the plant's numbers and sit at the center of every operating and pricing decision.

Position Summary

The Plant Controller owns accounting, cost, and financial analysis for an automotive parts facility, with heavy focus on standard cost, program profitability, and launch cost control. This role partners with plant operations and the corporate finance team. The Plant Controller reports to the Corporate Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Own the plant close and report results in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain standard costs, BOMs, and routings, and analyze purchase price and manufacturing variances.
• Analyze program and part profitability across the customer portfolio.
• Track launch costs and capital spend on new program awards and validate ROI.
• Manage working capital, inventory, and cycle-count controls.
• Support annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and customer cost-down commitments.
• Maintain internal controls and support audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of cost or plant accounting in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong standard costing, variance analysis, and program-costing experience.
• Manufacturing ERP experience.
• Comfort on the plant floor and with operations leaders.
• Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
