Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and efficient Plant 3D Designer to join an engineering team in Simi Valley, California. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, strong 3D piping design capabilities, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers, project managers, and other design disciplines.

The position will begin with a hybrid work arrangement to support onboarding, training, and team integration. After demonstrating reliability, productivity, effective communication, and the ability to work independently, the position may transition to 100% remote work.

Job Responsibilities

Develop accurate and detailed 3D piping and equipment models using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
Create piping isometric drawings, orthographic drawings, layouts, and other design deliverables.
Develop, update, and maintain plant models according to project requirements, engineering standards, and design direction.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams to produce accurate and constructible designs.
Review models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and coordination issues.
Identify and communicate potential design conflicts, constructability concerns, and project requirements.
Use basic Civil 3D functionality to support site layout, grading coordination, foundations, and related design activities.
Organize and maintain project drawings, models, files, and digital documentation.
Troubleshoot common software and modeling issues and adapt to new design tools and workflows.
Manage multiple assignments and priorities while meeting project schedules and deadlines.
Maintain a high standard of design quality and attention to detail.
Communicate effectively with engineering and project teams regarding design progress, issues, and required revisions.

Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D.
Hands-on experience with 3D plant modeling and piping design.
Experience creating piping isometrics, orthographic drawings, and equipment layouts.
Basic working knowledge of Civil 3D and the ability to coordinate with civil/site design information.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
Strong computer skills, including digital file management and cloud-based collaboration.
Ability to learn and adapt to new software, technologies, and design workflows.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work from the Simi Valley, CA office during the initial hybrid/onboarding period.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
