Job Summary
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for optimizing the flow of merchandise through a multi echelon supply chain by balancing cost, capacity, and service level. This position identifies opportunities to improve landed margin, drive continuous improvement, and recommends changes to increase profitability. This position drives collaboration across the supply chain to make the most effective decisions related to total landed cost, buying multiples, packaging, flow path, and channel management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leverages supply chain models to evaluate best flow pathing thru distribution vs customer direct as well as direct import, freight incoterms and buying multiple analysis
- Identifies opportunities to improve total landed cost, inventory flow, carrying cost, service level, lead times, handling, space utilization, packaging, risk mitigation, and profitability.
- Implement cost reduction and continuous improvements throughout the end to end value chain
- Models forward distribution capacities and product stocking approvals
- Collaborates with merchandise vendor partners implementing combined efficiencies, cost reductions, quality improvements, and vendor performance management
- Provides strategic and tactical recommendations to senior management through the line review and assortment planning process.
- Works cross-functionally with the merchandise, planning, pricing, inventory management, sourcing, and logistics teams to plan merchandise flow and channel management.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 2-3 years' experience in supply chain or merchandising
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations, or finance is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
- Proficiency with supply chain related models and software
- Advanced ability Microsoft excel, snowflake, and tableau skills
- Strong communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
- Capable of working in a high collaborative and cross-functional environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data recommend actionable solutions, and data story telling
- Effective time and priority management in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Display a detail-oriented approach to work
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
