    Planner 1 is responsible for assisting in the preparation, coordination, and monitoring of project plans and schedules. This entry-level position supports more senior planners and supervisors by gathering data, developing basic work plans, and ensuring that resources are effectively allocated to meet project timelines. Planner 1 plays a key role in ensuring work is scheduled efficiently and that projects are completed on time and within budget.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain simple work orders, job plans, and schedules under supervision.
    • Assist in gathering and verifying information from operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
    • Support the creation of work packages, including job steps, materials, labor requirements, and safety information.
    • Monitor the status of work orders and update schedules accordingly.
    • Communicate with supervisors and team leaders regarding upcoming work, material needs, and potential schedule conflicts.
    • Use planning and scheduling software (such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or CMMS systems) to input and update project information.
    • Assist in preparing reports and updates for internal teams and management.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical training preferred.
    • 0-2 years of experience in maintenance planning, project coordination, or a related field.
    • Basic knowledge of planning concepts and scheduling tools.
    • Familiarity with maintenance processes and/or construction workflows is a plus.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and technical documents (desired but not mandatory).

    Preferred Skills:

    • Exposure to CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, etc.).
    • Understanding of basic project management principles.
    • Mechanical or industrial aptitude.
    • Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.

    Working Conditions:

    • Office setting with occasional field visits.
    • May require wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when in operational areas.
    • Normal working hours, with possible overtime during major project phases or outages.
