Description

Position Title: Supply Chain Planner
Location:  Atlanta, GA(Hybrid: Monday–Thursday onsite;Friday remote)
Duration: 18 Months contract
 
Position Overview
The Manager of Supply Chain Procurement Operations will provide strategic, tactical, and operational leadership across procurement, inbound transportation, and materials management. This role will support business growth, commercialization, supply continuity, cost optimization, supplier strategy, and risk mitigation.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of supply chain/procurement experience, with strong expertise in supplier strategy, cost optimization, SAP, logistics, materials management, and cross-functional leadership within a CPG, manufacturing, or similar environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category strategies across raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend.
  • Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and strategic supplier relationship management.
  • Drive cost optimization, productivity, and value-creation initiatives.
  • Manage significant spend portfolios with strong financial accountability.
  • Establish inventory targets and supply performance metrics.
  • Oversee material start-ups, replenishment, run-outs, obsolescence, and liability management.
  • Partner with Finance on inventory exposure, write-offs, and working capital optimization.
  • Develop and manage inbound transportation strategies supporting manufacturing and distribution.
  • Identify and mitigate supplier, transportation, materials, and supply continuity risks.
  • Implement digital procurement capabilities, including e-sourcing, automation, analytics, and dashboards.
  • Leverage SAP and supply chain systems to improve transparency, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Support sourcing, commercialization, innovation, product launches, and supplier qualification activities.
  • Develop inventory strategies and transition plans for supply changes and new product launches.
  • Drive standardized processes, analytics, continuous improvement, and supplier innovation.
  • Provide executive leadership with insights on cost, service, risk, inventory, and working capital performance.
  • Ensure procurement governance, ethical sourcing, contractual compliance, and supplier commitments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field;MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Materials Management, and/or Transportation.
  • Experience leading teams in a consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, or similar environment.
  • Proven success with supplier negotiations, category strategy, and cost optimization.
  • Experience managing large spend portfolios and complex supplier networks.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, materials management, and transportation operations.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen.
  • Hands-on expertise with SAP and procurement/supply chain systems.
  • Excellent executive-level communication and stakeholder-influencing skills.
  • Strong governance mindset and high ethical standards.
