    GENERAL SUMMARY: Delphinus Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Planner-Estimator in Chula Vista, CA.

    LOCATION: Chula Vista, CA.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for all aspects of the task assigned from job scoping to completion.
    • Works with ship to determine boundaries of the task.
    • Reviews drawings for material, tracks material
    • Tracks progress of the task using Microsoft project.
    • Develops and updates Technical Work Instruction (TWI).
    • Stops work and seeks guidance when TWI instructions are unclear, drawings or work step instructions conflict with existing conditions, non-destructive and system tests fail to meet acceptance criteria.
    • Research and develops response to Condition Reports (CRs) as needed to document issues in configuration, workability of the TWI, and growth in scope
    • Provides feedback to Program Manager, Government Reps, OSIC's.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    • Graduate of high school, trade, or industrial school.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of six years of experience in developing work packages and TWIs for ship maintenance
    • 3 years of experience in the supervision of technical support for Alteration/SC installation, maintenance and repair of HM&E ship systems.
    • May be required to travel for work to other locations.
    • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
    • Must possess advanced computer skills to enter data into different databases.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to communicate with OSIC and government officials.
    • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written technical instructions and manuals.
    • Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets (MDS).
    • Able to follow safety procedures.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required on a regular basis to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and/or hear.
    • Frequently the employee is required to carry objects that might weigh up to 50 pounds.

    SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $110,000 per year
