PIV General Clerk I 

Client: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
Office: Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO)
Location: NOAA Headquarters – SSMC Badging and Credential Center, Silver Spring, MD 20910
Schedule: Monday–Friday; coverage is required during normal operating hours of approximately 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., excluding federal holidays.

Position Overview

Crossroads Talent Solutions is seeking a professional and customer-focused PIV General Clerk I to support NOAA's Silver Spring Headquarters Badging and Credential Center. This position primarily serves as the Main Lobby Receptionist, providing front-desk customer service, visitor processing, telephone support, administrative assistance, and support for NOAA's credentialing operations.

The General Clerk I will interact daily with a diverse population that may include federal employees, contractors, NOAA scientists and administrators, students, active-duty military personnel, retirees, dependents, and visitors. The position requires professionalism, discretion, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to customer service. Performance Work Statement

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and receive incoming customers and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Log incoming customers and coordinate or call for escorts when required.
• Manage a multi-line telephone system, including answering incoming calls, transferring calls, and recording clear and accurate messages.
• Respond to routine questions and inquiries received by telephone and email.
• Provide administrative support to the NOAA Badging and Credential Center.
• Assist with maintaining badging equipment, office supplies, inventory, and routine office communications.
• Collect identification cards from departing employees and contractors and assist with required termination actions.
• Develop and maintain organized filing and recordkeeping systems.
• Enter and maintain computerized records in government databases and Microsoft-based applications as required.
• Operate standard office equipment to prepare, compile, organize, and distribute information.
• Provide backup and general administrative support to other Badging Center personnel as needed.
• Perform other general clerical and administrative duties as assigned.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer/database systems.
• Ability to review records and documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Security Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess an active Public Trust security clearance or be able to obtain one.
• Must comply with NOAA and federal facility security, identification, access, safety, and conduct requirements.
• Must safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) information, and other protected or proprietary information in accordance with applicable federal requirements.
