JOB TITLE: Plumbing & Piping Superintendent

DURATION: 3+ Month Contract
RATE RANGE: $55-65/hour


POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Plumbing & Piping Superintendent, you will drive day-to-day field execution for critical factory upgrades, tool installations, and manufacturing line expansions. You will act as the primary on-the-ground leader coordinating industrial plumbing and process piping scopes. Operating on an aggressive 3-month timeline, you will manage both subcontractor crews and self-performed work. Your core mission is to clear field constraints, enforce safety, and maintain rapid project velocity without disrupting active factory operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Field Supervision: Coordinate and supervise all on-site plumbing and process piping installation, testing, and commissioning (e.g., low-temp chilled water, hot water, process gases, and liquid chemical systems).
  • Schedule & Execution: Maintain tight 3-month project schedules, identify critical path bottlenecks, and implement real-time problem-solving to avoid factory downtime.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface daily with Base Build, Construction Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve plan discrepancies and track changes.
  • Safety & Quality Control: Perform field walks, execute job hazard analyses (JHA/JSA), and conduct quality audits to ensure complete compliance with local building codes, ASME, and Tesla specifications.
  • Materials & Logistics: Produce accurate parts lists from P&IDs and mechanical drawings, managing field logistics to prevent material delays.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience supervising large-scale industrial plumbing, mechanical, or process piping projects (e.g., high-tech manufacturing, automotive, semiconductor, or data centers).
  • Technical Mastery: Strong ability to interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and ISO drawings, coupled with a deep knowledge of industrial fluid/gas piping and local California plumbing codes.
  • Agility: Proven success working within high-performance, fast-paced environments with strict, aggressive timelines.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and construction scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
  • Certifications: Current OSHA 30 certification is strictly required.
