Piping Designer (Direct Hire)
Location: Fort Pierce, FL
Compensation: $66-88k/yr+
Position Summary
Seeking a
Piping Designer to support water, wastewater, and industrial process projects. This role will create 3D plant models, piping layouts, and construction drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D. The ideal candidate will have experience with P&IDs, piping systems, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D plant models, piping layouts, and construction drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Develop and update P&IDs and related engineering drawings
- Design piping systems and select appropriate materials, valves, and fittings
- Coordinate with engineering teams to support project execution
- Perform drawing reviews and maintain drafting standards
- Support design reviews, field updates, and project coordination
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of CAD design experience in water/wastewater, industrial, or process facilities
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D for piping and equipment design
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping layouts, and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of piping materials, valves, fittings, and instrumentation
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with yard piping layouts and pipeline profiles
- Experience with Navisworks or similar coordination software
- Background supporting fabrication, construction, or field installation teams
- Experience in water treatment, wastewater, oil & gas, or industrial facilities
- Familiarity with ASME pressure vessel and process piping standards
