Contract to direct hire, long-term
Start date: ASAP
Pay range: $32-$43/hr DOE

Job Overview:
The Piping Designer position is responsible for the proficient use of computer-aided design (CAD) software, to design, prepare, and maintain mechanical drawings for air and gas purification systems

Responsibilities:
Interpret process design, piping, instrumentation diagram (P&ID), and related sales documentation such as customer specifications, and internal datasheets
Produce detailed drawings from Engineering and Applications studies or sketches of piping and equipment in an economic, safe, operable, and easily maintained manner
Demonstrate knowledge of proper use and care for drafting construction drawings and identify and resolve discrepancies and identify missing data
Perform basic mathematical calculations to prepare drawings, plans, etc.
Update and standardize existing design packages as needed
Demonstrate functional knowledge of terminology, methods, practices, techniques, and nomenclature for mechanical and/or electrical engineering CAD
Precisely follow written and oral instructions and perform detailed work thoroughly, neatly, accurately, and efficiently
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers to create an efficient workflow process

Qualifications:
Knowledge of and proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or Bentley AutoPLANT and/or other engineering-related software
MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and general computer literacy
Basic knowledge of purchasing and engineering document control systems
Familiarity with how a fabrication floor works and willingness to interact with welders and assemblers to guide and troubleshoot
Organized and capable of thinking through and resolving complex design challenges
Capable of reading and understanding electrical schematics and P&IDs
Must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
