Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking experienced Pipe Welders with strong GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW (Flux Core) welding skills for a high-quality fabrication operation in Tulsa.
This position requires advanced pipe welding ability and exceptional attention to detail. All production welds are subject to 100% X-ray inspection, and Welders are expected to maintain a reject rate below 4% while consistently meeting production requirements.
The ideal candidate has 35 years of pipe welding experience, is comfortable working in a production-driven fabrication environment, and can successfully complete both TIG and MIG/Flux Core pipe weld tests.
Required Experience & Skills
35 years of pipe welding experience required
Strong GTAW (TIG) welding skills
Strong GMAW (MIG) welding skills
Strong FCAW (Flux Core) welding skills
Ability to successfully complete required pipe weld tests
Experience producing welds capable of passing X-ray inspection
Ability to maintain a less than 4% weld reject rate
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding procedures
Strong attention to detail and commitment to weld quality
Ability to maintain productivity without sacrificing workmanship
Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform pipe welding using GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes
Produce high-quality pipe welds according to company and customer specifications
Perform TIG welding on pipe according to required procedures
Complete MIG root passes and Flux Core fill and cap passes as required
Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding procedures
Prepare and position pipe and materials before welding
Maintain proper welding parameters throughout each weld
Inspect completed welds for visible defects and workmanship concerns
Identify and correct welding issues before inspection when possible
Produce welds capable of meeting 100% X-ray inspection requirements
Maintain a weld reject rate below established standards
Work efficiently to meet daily production goals and deadlines
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all company welding, quality, and safety procedures
Perform additional pipe welding and fabrication duties as assigned

Candidates must successfully complete the following hands-on weld tests:
6G Pipe Test
2-inch Schedule 160 Pipe
GTAW (TIG)
6G position
Must meet required quality and inspection standards
1G Pipe Test
6-inch Schedule 80 Pipe
GMAW/FCAW combination
MIG Root
Flux Core Fill & Cap
Must meet required quality and inspection standards
X-Ray Quality Requirements
This is a quality-intensive welding position.
Production welds are subject to 100% X-ray inspection
Welders are expected to maintain a reject rate below 4%
Consistent penetration, fusion, profile, and overall weld integrity are critical
Candidates must be capable of maintaining quality while meeting production expectations
Weld quality and craftsmanship are essential for continued success in this position

Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, positioning, and repetitive physical activity

Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around pipe, grinders, welding equipment, heat, sparks, fumes, and industrial machinery
