    Pipe Welder

    Location: Phoenix, AZ 85034
    Shift: 1st Shift
    Schedule: Mandatory Overtime

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a Pipe Welder to join a fast-paced fabrication and production environment. The Welder will be responsible for producing high-quality welded pipe assemblies, including welding outlets onto pipe and performing manual rewelds as needed.

    The ideal candidate will have previous MIG welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain quality and productivity standards in a physically demanding setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Operate automated welding and plasma equipment to weld outlets onto pipe according to production specifications.
    • Perform manual MIG rewelds using hand-held welding equipment when required.
    • Load, position, and unload pipe from welding equipment using proper material-handling procedures.
    • Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality and compliance with specifications.
    • Apply required certification stamps to completed welds.
    • Transfer finished pipe to carts and staging areas for downstream processing or shipment.
    • Operate pneumatic banding equipment to prepare finished pipe bundles for shipment.
    • Read work orders, production documents, work instructions, and basic fabrication drawings.
    • Use tape measures and other measuring equipment to verify dimensions and specifications.
    • Maintain required production output while meeting quality and safety standards.
    • Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance or safety concerns.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
    • Complete required safety, equipment, and operational training.
    • Follow company SOPs, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
    • Assist with other fabrication, warehouse, and production activities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Previous welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment preferred.
    • MIG welding experience required/preferred, with industrial or production welding experience strongly preferred.
    • Ability to successfully complete the company's welding certification/test requirements.
    • Experience operating welding, plasma, or similar fabrication equipment preferred.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with daily productivity expectations.
    • Ability to read and follow work orders, production documents, work instructions, and SOPs.
    • Basic math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to accurately read a tape measure to at least 1/4-inch increments; finer measurements preferred.
    • High school diploma or GED preferred.

    Physical Requirements

    • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Frequently bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
    • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements while operating welding equipment.
    • Work safely around welding equipment, moving machinery, and material-handling equipment.
    • Wear required PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.
