    Description

    We are seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join a growing site and utility construction team in the Baltimore area. This individual will be responsible for installing underground utility systems and working alongside equipment operators and laborers to complete site development and utility projects safely and efficiently.

    Responsibilities

    • Install underground utility pipe, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems
    • Read and understand blueprints, grade stakes, cut sheets, and project specifications
    • Set and align pipe to proper line and grade
    • Assist with trench preparation, bedding, backfill, and compaction
    • Work closely with excavator operators to safely install pipe and structures
    • Install manholes, inlets, catch basins, valves, and other utility structures as needed
    • Ensure pipe joints, connections, and installations meet project specifications
    • Use lasers and other grading equipment to maintain proper elevations
    • Assist with layout and preparation of underground utility work
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all company and jobsite safety procedures
    • Work as part of a crew and assist with other site and utility construction activities as needed

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience as a Pipe Layer or Underground Utility Crew Member
    • Strong experience installing water, sewer, and/or storm drainage systems
    • Ability to read construction plans and understand line and grade requirements
    • Experience working around excavators and other heavy construction equipment
    • Knowledge of trench safety and underground utility construction practices
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
    • Reliable transportation and ability to report to jobsites throughout the Baltimore area
    • Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift materials as needed

    Preferred Experience

    Candidates with experience in site development, heavy civil construction, wet utilities, stormwater systems, and municipal utility work are strongly preferred.
