Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter to join an industrial fabrication team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for fitting, aligning, preparing, and tack welding pipe assemblies according to blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
The ideal candidate has strong pipe fabrication experience, can independently fit and tack their own assemblies, and is comfortable working from detailed drawings while maintaining high standards for accuracy and quality.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous Pipe Fitter experience required
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders
Experience independently fitting and tacking pipe assemblies
Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication and layout techniques
Ability to accurately use measuring tools and fabrication equipment
Experience measuring, cutting, beveling, and preparing pipe for assembly
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Ability to work independently and meet production requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and fabrication specifications
Fit and align pipe, fittings, and related components according to specifications
Tack weld assembled pipe components in preparation for final welding
Measure, cut, bevel, and prepare pipe and materials for fabrication
Perform layout and fit-up according to required dimensions
Verify dimensions, alignment, and overall quality of completed assemblies
Identify and correct fit-up or dimensional issues before final welding
Safely operate grinders, hand tools, and fabrication equipment
Maintain consistent quality throughout the fabrication process
Complete assigned work according to production schedules and deadlines
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all company safety procedures and fabrication requirements
Perform additional pipe fitting and fabrication duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Pipe welding experience
Previous industrial or fabrication shop experience
Experience working with multiple pipe materials and fitting types
Advanced blueprint and fabrication drawing interpretation skills
Experience performing pipe layout and preparation
Strong mechanical aptitude and fabrication troubleshooting skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and working around pipe assemblies
Ability to safely operate grinders, hand tools, and fabrication equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable performing physically demanding fabrication work throughout the workday

Hands-on work involving pipe, fittings, grinders, tack welding, and fabrication equipment
Regular blueprint reading, layout, measuring, cutting, beveling, and fit-up responsibilities
