The School of Music in the College of Creative Arts at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Piano Technician Senior.
About the Opportunity
The Piano Technician Senior will Tune, voice, and regulate acoustic pianos. Voicing is the manipulation, by hand, of the felt of the hammers using needles to soften or chemical hardeners. This method produces the most even, resonate and articulate piano tone possible. Regulation is the adjustment of the piano's various mechanical parts in order to allow the pianist the greatest flexibility in range of dynamics and tone color.
