Opportunity:
Physician - Urology
Job Details:
- 24-hour call coverage scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
- No in-house call required; however, response time to be on-site is within 20 minutes
- Typically 2-4 calls per night with 1-2 expected on-site call-ins
- Approximately 1-5 patients per shift with an average of 2-5 inpatient calls per 24 hours
- Physicians are not required to remain on-site during night or weekend call but are required to round and discharge
- Average on-site call-back hours expected: 2-4 hours per day
- If assignment is strictly 24-hour call: 2-4 hours per day of rounding, with remaining hours on-call with call-back
- Rounding to be completed by locum provider on new admissions and any inpatient requiring rounds
- Common procedures include kidney stone management, consults on continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), stent placements, hematuria management, and difficult catheter placements
- Handles patient consults, on-call questions, and transfer/consult questions
- General Urology experience required with adult patient population
- Ureteroscopy experience required; laparoscopic surgery and nephrectomy experience preferred
- Board certification required; fellowship required
- Trauma Level 2 facility
