    Overview:

    This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located in the Department of Medicine at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia.

    Civilian Physician (Rhemutology)

    This is a full-time Civilian Physician Pheumatology position at Fort Gordon, Augusta Georgia that affords job security, a competitive salary, bonuses, moving expenses, full malpractice coverage, up to 26 days paid vacation, 11 days paid Federal Holidays, a sick leave benefit, 401K, CME opportunities, an active GME program in primary care and surgical specialties and a first-class health and retirement benefit package.

    Responsibilities:

    Serves as a Physician (Rheumatology) in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), providing acute and long-term comprehensive care for adolescents, adults, and elderly patients with complex rheumatic illnesses.

     

    1. Clinical Care & Readiness:

     

    • Direct Patient Care: Formulates and executes comprehensive treatment plans for active-duty personnel, dependents, and beneficiaries.• Preventative Care: Conducts patient education, lifestyle counseling, and follow-up to optimize outcomes.• Consultative Services: Provides inpatient/outpatient consults, on-call support, and peer advisory services.• Military Readiness: Performs emergency interventions and assesses service members' fitness for duty/deployment.

    2. Governance & Education:

     

    •  Clinical Governance & QA: Leads Quality Assurance, peer reviews, and systemic clinical improvement initiatives.• GME & Residency Faculty: Serves as faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program; designs curriculum and supervises/mentors learners.• Professional Development: Attends conferences and maintains advanced clinical credentials to represent the MTF.

     

     

     

    Qualifications:

    US Citizenship required.

     

    Board certification (ABIM) preferred; board eligibility considered.

     

    Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
