Physician - Psych Child and Adolescent
Job Details:
- Provide and supervise medical and physical care to inpatient psychiatric patients
- Utilize appropriate psychotherapeutic methods, medication management, and treatment plan development in close collaboration with treatment team members, pharmacy, and other hospital staff
- Nurse practitioner support provided
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no call responsibilities
- 14-16 patient encounters per shift
- Experience and competence with management of wide age ranges from pre-adolescent to geriatric populations required
- Experience and competence with management of a wide variety of primary psychiatric diagnoses including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders required
- Previous experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting required
- Board certified or board eligible with board certification within 24 months of eligibility required
- Child/Adolescent psychiatry board certification preferred
- 3+ years of experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- ABLS, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
- Clinical areas of focus include anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADD/ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, developmental disorders, psychotic disorders, and organic disorders
- Treatment techniques include pharmacotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, and ECT
