Physician - Hospitalist
Job Details:
- Hospital Medicine position covering inpatient services at a 120-bed facility
- Multiple service schedules available: Service A 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Service B 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Service C 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- All three services convert to 12-hour shifts during high-volume periods
- On-call coverage rotation: Service C on-call 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Service B on-call 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Service A on-call 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- Weekends operate with two 12-hour services with surge coverage as needed
- No call-back expectations once shift is completed
- Providers will round on 15-22 patients per day depending on volume and shift
- Daily admissions average 10-12 patients with a census of 50-60
- Open ICU with intensivist involvement; intensivist on-site manages drips and vents
- Consults to behavioral health unit or surgery, averaging 1-2 per day
- Robust support staff including PT, OT, SLP, case managers, respiratory therapy, and intensivist on-site
- Level 2 trauma center; trauma surgery manages trauma cases with limited hospitalist involvement
- EMR: Meditech
- Seasoned providers capable of handling 18-20+ encounters are encouraged to apply
- Orientation consists of two 12-hour shadow shifts
