    Opportunity:

    Physician (MD) - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology


    Job Details:

    • Provide locum tenens inpatient Gastroenterology coverage Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, one week per month

    • Weekend call coverage required one weekend per month, beginning Friday at 4:30 PM through Monday at 7:30 AM

    • Coverage intended to support hospital-based GI services, reduce burden on existing physician group, improve patient access, and address procedural demand

    • Candidates who can fill full requirement or only weekday or weekend coverage separately will be considered

    • Expected patient encounters of 10 to 15 patients per shift

    • Board certification required; ACLS and BLS certifications required

    • Required procedures include upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery/fulguration, injection of varices, and PEG placement

    • Small bowel biopsy and lower GI endoscopy required

    • Sigmoidoscopy (flexible) and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision required

    • Recent Gastroenterology experience required with qualifications to perform all included procedures and clinical responsibilities
