DO;MD - Gastroenterology

Job Details:

• Must have Illinois license and be board certified in Gastroenterology
• 
  
• Minimum availability of 5 consecutive shifts per month required, with preference for more
• 
  
• Provide general GI care for acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
• 
  
• Conduct new patient evaluations and provide ongoing patient care
• 
  
• Perform endoscopic procedures with monitored anesthesia or moderate sedation
• 
  
• Provide hospital consultations and patient admissions
• 
  
• Balance between ambulatory, inpatient, and emergency department coverage
• 
  
• Typical schedule includes 3 days in clinic and 2 days in endoscopy suite for a 5-day week
• 
  
• Endoscopy procedures limited to 12 scopes per day with monitored anesthesia
• 
  
• Utilize full anesthesia (Propofol) or moderate sedation (Versed and Fentanyl) for procedures
• 
  
• ERCP/EUS experience not required
• 
  
• Board eligible candidates accepted if within 5 years of graduation, but must achieve board certification within 5 years
• 
  
• Clinic patient volume negotiable to accommodate inpatient consultation needs
