Job Details:
- Must have Illinois license and be board certified in Gastroenterology
- Minimum availability of 5 consecutive shifts per month required, with preference for more
- Provide general GI care for acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
- Conduct new patient evaluations and provide ongoing patient care
- Perform endoscopic procedures with monitored anesthesia or moderate sedation
- Provide hospital consultations and patient admissions
- Balance between ambulatory, inpatient, and emergency department coverage
- Typical schedule includes 3 days in clinic and 2 days in endoscopy suite for a 5-day week
- Endoscopy procedures limited to 12 scopes per day with monitored anesthesia
- Utilize full anesthesia (Propofol) or moderate sedation (Versed and Fentanyl) for procedures
- ERCP/EUS experience not required
- Board eligible candidates accepted if within 5 years of graduation, but must achieve board certification within 5 years
- Clinic patient volume negotiable to accommodate inpatient consultation needs
