Physician, Family Medicine PRN & Contract

Ambition 24 Hours Inc is building a pool of qualified Physician, Family Medicine candidates for upcoming assignments at state-operated facilities across Texas, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and an adolescent psychiatric treatment center. We are recruiting now so we can offer you work quickly as and when roles come in.

• PRN (as-needed) shifts to start
• Short-term and long-term contract assignments will also become available
• Flexible scheduling: pick up the shifts and assignments that suit you

Provide primary and preventive medical care to individuals receiving long-term residential or inpatient psychiatric care.

• Conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies
• Prescribe and review medications in coordination with psychiatry and pharmacy
• Document care in the medical record and take part in interdisciplinary team meetings
• Provide on-call and call-back coverage when scheduled

• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Texas Medical Board license
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine
• Active DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, TB screening and any immunization requirements set by the facility
• Willingness to complete facility orientation and required training before your first shift

Hourly pay

• Standard: $116.40 $135.80 per hour
• Weekend: $124.80 $145.60 per hour
• Holiday (Designated Holidays): $175.20 $204.40 per hour
• Call-Back: $175.20 $204.40 per hour

On-call pay (flat rate per on-call period)

• Evening Call (5:00 pm 8:00 am): $283.80 $331.10
• 24-Hour On-Call: $526.80 $614.60
• Holiday On-Call (24 hours): $770.40 $898.80
• Weekend 24-Hour On-Call: $608.40 $709.80

Your rate within each range depends on your experience, credentials and the assignment.

Holiday rates apply on designated holidays only.

Hours over 40 in a week are worked only when scheduled and approved by the facility in advance; approved overtime is paid at 1.5 times your hourly rate.
