Physician - Emergency Medicine

Job Details:

• Provide emergency medicine coverage with shifts available 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 
  
• ABEM board certification preferred; exceptions made for strong experienced providers
• 
  
• Multiple full-time positions available on an ongoing basis
• 
  
• One emergency medicine physician typically on staff per shift
• 
  
• Perform standard emergency department procedures including intubation, procedural sedation, fracture reduction/splinting, chest tube placement, CPR, suture repair, incision & drainage, and central line placement
• 
  
• Manage an average patient census of 55-60 patients daily, approximately 2 patients per hour with occasional larger patient volumes
• 
  
• Treat common cases including medical complaints such as chest pain, abdominal pain, and shortness of breath, as well as basic trauma including falls, motor vehicle collisions, and sports injuries
• 
  
• Severe or penetrating trauma cases are rare
• 
  
• Work alongside nursing staff and on-call specialists
• 
  
• Complete 2 shadow shifts for orientation
