Physician - Emergency Medicine
Job Details:
- Emergency Medicine Board Certification required
- Locum Tenens assignment with ongoing coverage needs
- Provider staffing model includes 1 Physician covering 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM shifts, plus 1 APP covering 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily
- Nursing staffing model includes 2 RNs around the clock plus a triage RN mid-day, with additional support from respiratory staff, float RN, Nursing Supervisor, and Nurse Manager
- Emergency department consists of 9 beds
- Average daily census of 44 patients
- Patient encounters per shift vary
- Trauma Level 4 facility
- 24-hour availability of support services including anesthesia, cardiothoracic surgery, catheterization lab, general surgery, laboratory, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, radiology, and vascular surgery
- Newborn deliveries may be received in the ED; no L&D department on site deliver and transfer to affiliated facility when stable
- Active Pennsylvania medical license required
- Clean malpractice history preferred
- Nearest airports are Pittsburgh and Latrobe; lodging recommendations available in the Altoona area
