Physician - Emergency Medicine
Job Details:
- Cover standard emergency department shifts including on-site, weekends, and nights
- Shift times at main ED: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 5:00 PM - 3:00 AM, and 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Shift times at FSED: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Work within a Level 3 trauma center seeing moderate to high acuity and complex pathology
- Patient census of approximately 115 patients per day at main ED and 70 patients per day at FSED
- Approximately 30 ED treatment spaces available
- 25% admission rate at main ED and 5% admission rate at FSED
- 4 physicians per day on staff at main ED and 2 physicians per day at FSED, supported by 2 APPs per day at all sites
- Support staff includes nurses, technicians, paramedics, and security
- All specialties consistent with a Level 3 trauma center are available, including OB, in-house intensivist, and hospitalist services
- Perform common ED procedures including intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, conscious sedation, fracture reduction, and laceration repair
- See all typical ED presentations; no low acuity patients seen at main ED
- Urban, middle-class patient population
- ABEM board certification required
- 2 full shadow shifts required for orientation, or 1 shadow shift if candidate has previous HCA and Meditech experience

The facility is supported by a full complement of clinical staff and is equipped to handle a broad range of emergencies, from routine presentations to complex, high-acuity cases. With access to all specialties consistent with a Level 3 trauma center, the facility is well-resourced to deliver high-quality emergency care.
