Job Details:

• Internal Medicine - Critical Care Medicine physician needed for locum tenens coverage
• 
  
• Shift hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• 
  
• Duties include rounding plus call coverage with support staff assisting with call during the day
• 
  
• 16-bed department
• 
  
• Board eligible within 5 years of residency required; board certification required
• 
  
• Required certifications: ACLS, ATLS, and BLS
• 
  
• Level 3 trauma facility
• 
  
• Preferred specialty skills include:
• 
  
• Ventilation management including invasive (ETT/NT/Tracheostomy) and non-invasive (BiPAP/CPAP)
• 
  
• Chest tube insertion
• 
  
• Bronchoscopy with bronchial alveolar lavage (BAL)
• 
  
• Evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues
• 
  
• Insertion of central line, arterial line, PA catheter, and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
• 
  
• Temporary pacemaker placement
• 
  
• ICP evaluation and management
• 
  
• Dialysis catheter placement
• 
  
• Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
