    Description

    Perform physical examinations on Adult patients to include patient’s medical, family, and social history.
     
    Documents all patient visits in electronic medical record in a timely manner 
    Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors 
    Interprets subjective and objective data to formulate a diagnosis 
    Formulates treatment plans within the provider’s scope of practice 
    Implements therapeutic interventions when appropriate 
    Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic laboratory tests, EKGs and radiological studies 
    Enters all orders for treatments and medications to be administered 
    Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions 
    Provides patient education and counseling regarding disease processes, test results, discharge planning, and preventative healthcare 
    Makes appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies 

    Requirements
    License as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maine
    PA must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant program; NCCPA certified
    NP must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
    PA must complete 100 hours of CME every two (2) years and take the recertification exam every six (6) years
    Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification required
    Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS preferred
    Experience in Occupational Health preferred
    DOT Medical Exam Certification required within 6 months of hire
    Experience in emergency department or urgent care setting preferred
    Experience and proficiency in interpreting x-rays
    Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skill and ability
    Ability to prioritize patients by level of acuity
