UPMC is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant/PA or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner/CRNP to join our Infectious Disease team in Williamsport, PA. Schedule & Work-Life Balance
- Monday-Friday | Approx. 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- 25% outpatient clinic | 75% inpatient rounding/consults
- 1:4 weekday call rotation
- 1:4 weekend call rotation
- Rotating holiday call coverage

What You'll Do
- Provide inpatient infectious disease consults and participate in daily hospital rounding
- Deliver outpatient care for follow-up visits and ongoing disease management
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for a wide range of infectious conditions
- Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Participate in call coverage, primarily supporting patient needs via phone
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, prevention strategies, and follow-up care
- Knowledge of growth and development principles
- Ability to provide age-appropriate patient care across the lifespan
- Ability to assess patient data and deliver care per departmental policies
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina and dexterity required for direct patient care
- Successful attainment and maintenance of hospital privileges, where applicable.
Licensure, Education, Certifications, and Clearances:
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP
Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program
BSN required; MSN preferred
Pennsylvania RN license and CRNP certification
National certification and eligibility for licensure and CRNP certification by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing
Physician Assistant (PA
Graduation from an ARC‑PA-accredited Physician Assistant program
Bachelor's or master's degree preferred
Pennsylvania PA license and NCCPA certification
Required for All APP Candidates
CPR certification
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
