    Columbia Orthopaedic Group is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Interventional Pain Management team.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in pain management, but we know that great candidates do not always come with the exact same background. If you are an experienced PA or NP with strong clinical skills and an interest in developing expertise in interventional pain management, we would like to meet you.

    This is a full-time, Monday through Friday opportunity for an APP who enjoys building relationships with patients, working collaboratively with physicians and being part of a specialized clinical team.

    What You'll Do

    As part of our Interventional Pain Management team, you will help evaluate and manage patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions. Responsibilities will include:

    • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories and physical examinations
    • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the physician
    • Provide follow-up care for patients receiving interventional pain management treatment
    • Review diagnostic imaging, laboratory results and other clinical information
    • Educate patients about diagnoses, treatment options, procedures and expectations
    • Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate
    • Order appropriate diagnostic testing, medications and therapies within scope of practice
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
    • Collaborate closely with physicians, clinical staff and other members of the care team
    • Help patients navigate chronic and complex conditions with compassion, professionalism and clear communication

    Who We're Looking For

    We would love to find someone with previous pain management experience, but we are also interested in experienced APPs from other clinical specialties who are excited about growing into this role.

    Experience in any of the following areas may translate especially well:

    • Interventional pain management
    • Orthopaedics or spine
    • Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R)
    • Neurology
    • Neurosurgery
    • Surgery or another procedural specialty

    Most importantly, we are looking for someone who has strong clinical judgment, communicates well with patients and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
    • Current Missouri PA or NP license in good standing, or eligibility to obtain Missouri licensure
    • Appropriate national certification
    • Previous clinical experience as a PA or NP preferred
    • Pain management experience strongly preferred, but not required
    • Strong assessment, communication, documentation and patient education skills
    • Ability to manage a busy patient schedule while providing thoughtful, patient-centered care
    • Comfortable working with patients who may have chronic or complex medical needs
    • Collaborative approach and willingness to continue learning within the specialty
