Cardiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Position Overview: As a Cardiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner at Vernon Health, you will provide comprehensive cardiovascular care, including patient evaluation, diagnosis support, treatment planning, medication management, follow-up care, and patient education. You will collaborate closely with physicians, primary care providers, nursing services, cardiac rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, and hospital teams to support patients with hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular disease, and other cardiovascular conditions throughout Viroqua, Vernon County, and the Driftless Region.

Cardiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions in the clinic setting.
• Collaborate with physicians on diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, medication management, and follow-up care.
• Review and interpret relevant clinical data, including laboratory results, electrocardiograms, cardiac imaging, and other cardiovascular studies within scope of practice.
• Provide patient education on cardiovascular risk reduction, medications, lifestyle changes, and symptom monitoring.
• Coordinate care with primary care, nursing, cardiac rehabilitation, diagnostic services, and hospital teams while maintaining accurate and timely medical records.

Cardiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Wisconsin Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license, or ability to obtain.
• Cardiology, internal medicine, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, or related clinical experience. 3 years of experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, clinical assessment, medication management, and patient education skills.
