Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a part-time (0.80 FTE; full benefits) Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation team, supporting our TBI outpatient program. In this role, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals with traumatic brain injuries.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions and formulate differential diagnoses through comprehensive history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
  • Prescribe medications and make appropriate therapy and specialty referrals.
  • Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of patients' medical, functional, and psychosocial status.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and external agencies to ensure coordinated, high-quality, and continuous patient care.
  • Identify needs of the individual, family or community, and develop individualized plans of care and education

About the Department

  • Our TBI Outpatient Program became the first organization in the world to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) as a Concussion Specialty Program for Adolescents & Adults.
  • Our Knapp Rehabilitation Center is an inpatient specialty program serving adolescent and adult patients various conditions that includes but not limited to traumatic brain injury, non-traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple trauma, spinal cord injury, burn, amputation, other neurological conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current (or eligibility for) license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical experience in traumatic brain injury, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, or neurorehabilitation.
  • Prior experience as an APP

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Function as both individual performer and team player

SALARY

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant pay is based on year of licensure and specialty area. The grid below represents current pay rates for this position.
