Hennepin Healthcare has an opening for a 1.0 FTE Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with our Neurosurgery team. This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide medical and surgical management of complicated neurosurgery adult and pediatric patients in the hospital setting. The APP will assist staff surgeons and support resident physicians as well as work independently in providing care to patients, with the full spectrum of neurosurgery needs, including trauma. In this role, it is necessary to demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
This position will be day/evening with some night/weekend rotation. No operating room time and limited procedures. Schedule is released a minimum of 6 weeks in advance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner or in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program
Current MN license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota (or eligibility)
Nurse Practitioner candidates must be licensed to treat both adults and pediatrics
BLS, ACLS certification
ENLS Certification (or within 6 months of start)
